Photos...

I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use this blog. I thought I'd post some of the trip photos - I may later incorporate them into the individual posts, but enjoy for now!

Dan,
Good to see all the progress your making throughout your trip. The pics you're taking are outstanding! For those of us that wish we we able to take journies like the one you are taking, it sure is a pleasure to have an amigo post his experiences and challenges (like that u-turn...oops)your encountering each day.
Good job on the high mileage days, awesome pics, and by the way ... that Coolmax shirt and Kilamanjaro Air jkt looks good on you ! hahaha
Hope you liked the pic I sent you in the mail with your jkt.
God Bless and Ride Safe Brother,

Mario, you the man, thanks for stopping by and sharing the trip with me. The Kiliminjaro jacket (HT Air for everybody else) is freaken' awesome! I've kept the liner in both the jacket and the pants until today - I pulled the jacket liner first thing this morning but left the pant liner in. That will come out tomorrow.

I'll never travel without the Coolmax stuff again - it makes a huge difference as to comfort at the end of a long day.

Excellent news about the Cyclegadgets, btw. I'll have to stop by soon.

Take care,

dan

Uhh, Dan...Aren't those my sunglasses? I've taken the liberty of informing the California Highway Patrol of your HID lamps since you've seemed to have liberated my glasses.

Ooops!! I found them. Sorry, dude. Won't be able to stop the CHP from hunting you down though - you understand how difficult it is trying to get the shit back into the horse!

Keep the tales and pics coming, brother! :->

Thank God I made it out of California without those guys catching me with the HID! I'm back in Neveda - did 500 miles today through Yosemite. It was awesome. Am on a slow dialup connection, so the photo update will have to wait.

Hey Dan,
What's the good word brother? Those pics of the sky are freakin amazing! When are you planning to arrive back home and what's the mileage on your machine so far? I have shared your experiences with the people at Cycle Gadgets and they were really excited. Things are going real well over there for me and I am planning on attending the BMW Rally in West Virginia next month. I'm pretty siked up about travelling with the company to all the rallies and meeting all the psychotic ironbutt riders like yourself ... hahaha

Until the next update, ride safe and God Bless.

Hey Mario - I'm on the last leg now. Am overnighting in Lincoln, NE and will motor home tomorow - about 500 miles. The trip total will be 5500-5700 or so. The bike total is just turned 30k. I didn't ride much last year... sad to say.

The pics are all straight out of the camera - yes, I tinkered with the exposure a bit, but no post processing. I've highlighted my favorites and will update them with color, level, and exposure adjustments. I'll send you a link to the post processed ones - drop me an email at danbrew@twentyninewest.com with your email address.

I'm happy to say the RAM mount for my Escort 8500 works very very well. Too bad I didn't hear the damn thing go off in Neveda. I got $121 reasons to go buy the howler system...!
