A brief word about
copyrights...
All images and content
on this website are
Copyright © 2003 by Daniel Brewster.
US copyright law provides that a photographer owns all rights to
his photographs at the moment of creation.
I've included a link to the Copyright
Office of the United States Library of Congress in case you have additional
questions of US copyright law.
Why do I mention copyrights? First, it's important to recognize that the
"cost" of an image created by a professional photographer is far
more than the few dollars it may cost to reproduce the image at the corner photo
shop. Like any professional, I have invested tens of thousands of dollars in
my trade acquiring the skills, education, photographic equipment, and
computers required to provide world-class images. As such, I price my work
accordingly.
Another reason I mention copyrights is because I am often hired
to shoot team sporting events in which it is likely
I will capture images of multiple individuals. Many times I shoot youth
leagues and may have taken photographs of your children while they are
participating in a team event.
As a father of two young children, I do understand that some parents may be
apprehensive about photos of their children being placed on the internet.
Although most of my galleries are password protected, I am always sensitive
to the issue of your privacy and will immediately remove (or digitally edit)
a photo featuring your child if requested to do so.
